Evangelical Christian approaches to FCI
2025-Dec Forum-Evangelical-001.jpg

Inspiring discussion on Evangelical Christian approaches to faith-consistent investing. Our speakers were both from Sovereign's Capital which provides capital and partnership to companies and funds led by faith-driven teams. Jake Thomsen, Managing Partner, and Matt Monson, Partner, Public Equity, provided a fascinating insight into how a faith-based approach benefits both the businesses they invest in and human flourishing. The session was moderated by FaithInvest's Steven Owen

FCI and the Journey into Impact
FCI Forum-Catholic investing-003.jpg

Fascinating and inspiring FCI Forum on Catholic Investing in June, which looked at what is needed to develop a fit-for-purpose Catholic investing ecosystem, and shared very practical details of how two congregations reflect Catholic Social Teaching in their investment policies. Our panelists were Jean-Baptiste de Franssu, President of IOR (Vatican Bank); John O'Shaughnessy, Treasure & Chief Investment Officer, Franciscan Sisters of Mary; and Petra Vujakovic, Impact Investments Manager for the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with FaithInvest's Susie Weldon as moderator.

How can faith-based investors drive positive change through shareholder engagement – whether that is through dialogue, proxy voting, or advocacy to improve governance, sustainability and long-term performance? Our two excellent panelists were: Tim Smith, Senior Policy Advisor for the ICCR – a leader in the field of responsible investing and corporate responsibility for over five decades, Emily DeMasi, Lead, North America and Director of Engagement at EOS, Federated Hermes Limited, one of the world’s largest, specialist stewardship teams. FaithInvest's Catherine Devitt moderated.

INVESTING IN A
LIVEABLE FUTURE

'A small profit reinvested regularly is something that can give huge amounts of leverage. Quite often a grant is given once... With an investment, every pound could be used 20, 30, 40, 50 times'
– Stewart McCulloch, Stewardship

We had a very lively and engaging conference of faith-based development agencies, business networks and philanthropies in London, UK, in May 2023. Co-hosted with Christian Aid's Salt Business Network, more than 100 delegates discussed whether investments and other non-aid financing mechanisms could help fund development.

'This is possible – we can create
a better future'

– Amy Clarke, Tribe Impact Capital

'Excellent', 'riveting', 'inspiring', 'mind opening' and 'uplifting' – these were some of the words used to describe FaithInvest's two-day Bold Plans and Faith-consistent Investing conference in London, UK, in October 2022. More than 100 people came together to discuss how to catalyse faith-consistent investing and move a greater proportion of faith-owned funds into initiatives focused on creating a better future for people and planet.
