FaithInvest will unveil a new resource for faith-consistent investors – the Living Laudato Si' resource hub – at our Global Investment Forum event on Thursday May 26.
The investor resource hub is a space for insights and inspiration for organisations that, inspired by the Pope's landmark 2015 Laudato Si' encyclical, are considering how to use their financial assets and investments for the common good.
Laudato Si' calls on us all to 'hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor', and speaks of the importance of ecological economics – an approach to economics that recognises that 'everything is connected'.
The resource hub will provide inspiring stories, resources and guides on approaches to financial stewardship that are in alignment with ecological economics. Ecological economics is one of the seven goals identified for urgent action by the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, which was launched in November 2021 to provide a global framework to inspire individuals and organisations to take action to bring Laudato Si' to life and achieve ‘full sustainability’.
The ecological economics goal calls on institutions to divest assets from ecological injustice, making positive impact investments, shifting towards sustainable banking, among other important financial contributors to a sustainable future.
FaithInvest is hosting the Living Laudato Si' hub to curate a suite of resources and share the stories of groups putting the invitation of Laudato Si’ into action. We are excited to preview the Laudato Si' Investor Hub at this event.
This event, co-hosted by FaithInvest in collaboration with AMRI, An Tairseach, the Laudato Si’ Movement, Laudato Si’ Action Platform and USIG JPIC Commission, is an invitation to institutional investors across the world, to engage in a conversation about moving assets in line with Laudato Si’.
The preview and debate around the Living Laudato Si' resource hub will be live streamed on Thursday afternoon. For more information, visit our EVENTS page.
